Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 August 2026
These terms apply to your use of the Fjord Player app and this website. Fjord Player is also covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to apps downloaded from the App Store. Where these terms and Apple's agreement overlap, both apply, and nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your own country.
1. Fjord Player is a player
Fjord Player is software for playing playlists and streaming accounts that you supply yourself. We do not provide, host, sell, resell, bundle, index or redistribute television channels, playlists, video streams, films, series or any other media content, and the app ships with none. There is no catalogue to subscribe to and no content offered anywhere in the app or on this site.
Adding a playlist or an account to Fjord Player does not create any relationship between us and your provider. What that provider supplies, charges, logs or blocks is entirely between you and them.
2. Your sources are your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the playlists, accounts, credentials, addresses and files you add to Fjord Player, and for making sure you have the legal right to access and stream whatever they provide. Before using offline viewing, you must also make sure that you own the media or that its source expressly permits you to download it for offline use. Permission to stream does not necessarily include permission to download. If you are not sure whether a source or a particular use is lawful where you live, do not add or download it.
We cannot help you find, choose, obtain or troubleshoot IPTV providers, and requests of that kind will not be answered.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Fjord Player to:
- infringe copyright or any other intellectual property right;
- access content you are not entitled to access, or to bypass access controls, territorial restrictions or paywalls;
- download or retain media when its owner or source has not expressly authorized you to do so;
- break any law that applies to you;
- reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except to the extent that applicable law, an open-source licence or the relinking grant supplied with a release expressly permits it;
- misrepresent the app as a source of content, or distribute it alongside playlists or subscriptions as though the two were connected.
4. Third-party services
Fjord Player uses a small number of outside services to do its job: TMDb for artwork and descriptions, TheIntroDB for intro and credit timings, and whatever servers your own playlist names for streams and logos. These are described in detail in the privacy policy.
Those services are run by other people. They can change, impose limits, become unavailable or stop entirely, and features that depend on them will stop working when they do. We are not responsible for third-party services or for the content, accuracy or availability of anything they return.
Playback uses the open source mpv and FFmpeg libraries under the LGPL. Attribution, matching source code and versioned relinking kits are available on the open-source licenses page and in Settings then About inside the app.
5. No warranty
Fjord Player is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every provider, stream, format or device. IPTV sources vary enormously in quality and behaviour, and a stream that will not play is very often the stream rather than the app.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Fjord Player, including lost data, lost settings, or any consequence of content obtained through sources you added. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
6. Price
Fjord Player is free. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly before you are asked for anything, and it will never apply retroactively to a version you have already installed.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and the current version is always the one published here. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app's release notes rather than relying on you to notice.
8. Contact and governing law
Questions about these terms: contact@fjordplayer.com
Fjord Player is made and published in Norway, and these terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
